Windham Automated Machines - Facilities & Capabilities

WAM owns and operates from, the Historic Kirby Mill. This is a 27,000 square foot facility located within Mansfield Hollow State Park. The facility was completely renovated and modernized during 1997. Since WAM owns the facility, the renovations and modernization were specifically accomplished to best suit the design and manufacture of automation systems, custom machines and product development and manufacture operations.

This stately facility provides a perfectly suited environment, fostering creative and innovative solutions for a wide variety of modern equipment design and manufacture. All of WAM's operations are located within this one facility allowing the various disciplines and experts to blend and work seamlessly to provide exceptional levels of success toward meeting project goals and objectives for both small and large projects.

Our facility is approximately 45 minutes from an international airport (Bradley International, Hartford / Springfield). We are approximately five minutes from the University of Connecticut's main campus at Storrs, CT. Hotel, restaurant and entertainment facilities are all within a two mile radius.

ENGINEERING:

CAD design and drafting utilizing the most current software.
Multiple full time designers and drafters with vast machine design experience.
Experienced Senior level Project Engineers to keep your project on schedule and within budget.
Experienced Software Engineers providing Industrial, Scientific and Research software. Real time programming. Languages from Assembler to high level.
Electrical and Electronic Engineers providing schematic design, circuit board layout, circuit board assembly and test.
Engineering integrated purchasing to assure clear and concise communication with suppliers.

MECHANICAL MANUFACTURING, ASSEMBLY, TEST:

Fully equipped machine shop with both conventional and CNC machining, as well as a full complement of support and inspection equipment.
Welding shop providing all necessary welding capabilities including MIG, TIG, Gas and resistance welding.
Sheet metal fabrication shop including various large and small capacity shears, press brakes, punches, etc., as required to provide high quality machine guards and sheet metal assemblies.
Paint facility including paint booth and safety equipment as required to "paint" equipment to customer specifications including various paint and finish types.
Assembly and test facility providing a clean, bright area for the final assembly, plumbing, wiring, and testing of equipment.
